United States Department of the Interior, Secretary et al. and Respondents.
W. Alan Schroeder in association with Lamar Smith, Bill Laycock, and Jack Alexander. Case Number 98-1991 in the Supreme Court of the United States, On Writ of Certiorari to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Brief of Amicus Curiae of the Association of Rangeland Consultants in Support of Neither Party but in Support of Reversal.
This Supreme Court case’s question concerned the authority of the Secretary of the Interior to make amendments to the Taylor Grazing Act. The case covered governing grazing preferences, permit issuance, and ownership of range improvements. The court ultimately ruled that the Secretary of the Interior did have statutory authority under the Taylor Grazing Act of 1934.
